Who We Are
Get to know the heart of LHARC.
Our Community
The Liberty Hill Amateur Radio Club (LHARC) is a community of licensed amateur radio operators and interested individuals who live in or around Liberty Hill, Texas. We range from "new hams" to seasoned "Elmers" with decades of experience.
The "Elmering" Philosophy
In amateur radio, an "Elmer" is an experienced ham who mentors newcomers. At LHARC, we pride ourselves on being beginner-friendly. We know that amateur radio can be technically daunting at first, and our members are here to help you through the licensing process and your first antenna build.
Club Values
- Public Service: Supporting Liberty Hill and the surrounding areas during emergencies and community events.
- Education: Providing resources for learning electronics, signal propagation, and radio technology.
- Mentorship: Helping the next generation of radio operators find their footing in the hobby.
- Innovation: Exploring the boundaries of digital modes, satellite communication, and low-power (QRP) operation.
